SPECIAL NEEDS: Feline Diabetes Chloe was surrendered to the Catnip Cottage through her veterinarian. Chloe was diagnosed with Feline Diabetes in June 2008. Chloe's diabetes is controlled by a diet of low-carbohydrate canned food only (Chloe loves 9-lives minced meat varieties, no rice or vegetables.). We recommend Chloe's blood glucose level be tested at home with a meter and test strips occasionally to monitor her BG level. Feline Diabetes need not be a difficult nor very expensive condition to treat, and diabetic cats can still enjoy full, normal and healthy lives with proper treatment. You can read more about treating feline diabetes at felinediabetes.com. Treatment of Feline Diabetes DOES, however, require commitment and responsibility on the part of the human companion. Lovely Chloe is a large lady with lovely round eyes. Although she gets along with the other cats and dogs in her foster home, she would do best in a quiet home with responsible, patient, understanding and loving humans of her very own. She loves having her head and the back of her neck scritched. Chloe is very loyal and dedicated to the one person whom she bonds with. She would not be well placed with young children. Large and lovely Chloe has expressive green eyes and lovely tabby markings. She wants to bond with a special hooman that she can trust. But with some dedication I am again feeling quite fine. I am learning how to adapt In my new foster home. And Im receiving the care I need For my diabetic syndrome. A bit of change in my diet And losing a little weight has lowered my blood sugar and Im again feeling great. Although it is rather nice here, Foster Momma is quite grand I dream of being adopted And petted with your hand. If you are a responsible person Whose life perhaps feels a gap Come here and adopt me So I can warm your lap.
