Although he was looking for a friendly scritch and a handout, he was given a hand up as well. He was NOT impressed with his first visit to the vets, however. Ever the talker, this handsome tuxedo told the vet ALL about it, bantering and chattering good-naturedly in his cat-speak. When the vet jokingly raised his fists in a mock fight, this purrsonable gent stood tall on his hind hocks and also raised his paws, mimicking the vet's actions and quite ready to take him on in a fisticuff. This earned the dapper dude his name, Rocky. Rocky is a sanctuary cat who has IBD and FIV. He can be adopted into the right home that can accommodate his particular needs and has a good bit of patience, as well as a good sense of humor. When he is having a flare-up of his IBD, he gets diarrhea. Fortiflora, a tasty pro-biotic that you can order online or through your veterinarian, is helping quite a lot. Because of his compromised immune system, Rocky must live in an environment that controls his exposure to the illnesses and diseases that are commonly carried by other cats. Unfortunately, Rocky absolutely refuses to live life as a pampered indoor only cat, however. He needs a home with a secure escape-proof outdoor cat enclosure so that he can have access to the outdoors he craves, in a managed environment he requires. He also insists on coming and going between the house and outdoors when he wants, so he DOES need to be able to come indoors with his family as well. Rocky is a gentle, well-mannered cat with a friendly, loving, easy-going and talkative nature. Rocky is always there to chatter amiably with you, and to offer a fabulous two-pawed hug around your neck. He gets along very well with dogs. His play and nature can be a bit rough with kitties, though, so we recommend him most either as an only cat or with a canine companion.
