Boxer - Medium - Senior - Female - Dog - Suga'Bear
Description
CBR is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving North and South Carolina. Our Boxers come to us from shelters, humane societies and directly from owners. They enter into volunteer foster homes throughout both states and live indoors with the foster family and other pets. Each Boxer receives a complete physical, immunizations, sterilization, heartworm test and treatment for any illnesses or diseases. We evaluate temperament to ensure that each Boxer we rescue will make a good family pet. These evaluations are achieved through living with the dog and watching him/her interact with children, adults and other pets. All of our Boxers are tested for aggression issues and any other behavior problems. Each dog learns basic house manners and is crate and house trained. We do not accept nor place dogs with known human aggression issues.Suga Bear would like to thank her sponsor:Tom KoepplerNovember 8, 2008... Suga' Bear (or just Bear as we call her) is doing fantastic....she has so much energy and that what keeps this girl going for her age. I don't think she realizes that this spring she'll be 11! Don't get me wrong she sleeps just as hard as she plays! The snoring....oh my God! She did great walking around with kids on Halloween. Nothing seemed to bother her at all; kids, costumes, noise. She is the best foster I have ever had.September 17, 2008 ... Suga' Bear is still doing fantastic! You would never guess that she is 10 1/2! She is now perfectly crate trained and loves her crate for sleeping at night. She will sleep on the floor until she is comfortable enough that everyone is tucked in and settled for the night and then she will parole the area and then go into her crate until the morning. She had her vet check not too long ago and come out with flying colours!!! The only concern I would have is that, and I think it has a little to do with her age, is she has no patience for any other dogs to come straight up to her. She likes her space. She would do well with another calm dog like herself. Maybe even one that was submissive, because she definitely is an alpha. When it comes to kids and lots of ruckus...there is no problem. Having two teenagers in the house with friends, yelling, carrying on, and lots of loud Rock Band chaos....she is not phased by it at all.December 14, 2007 ... Suga' Bear will be 10, this coming June/July. She certainly doesn't act it! She has a lot of energy! She definitely is a dominant dog, towards both males and females. She gets along with her foster fur brother Travis as long as there is no food around. She will scarf her food down and then go after his. So now she gets fed in her crate. On Suga's records it says she is 67 pounds, but there is no way that she weighs that. She is the biggest, fattest girl I have seen is a long time. She looks like a sausage roll!! We think she is more along the line of 75 pounds. She is the sweetest dog. Loves the kids, walks amazingly on a leash, is completely housebroken, crate trained, and listens to commands.Anyone interested in a CBR dog should read our Views and Policies and, if in agreement, fill out and submit an application. During the processing phase, all references will be checked including vet and landlord (if renting). As long as there are no negative references and the application does not contain any information contradictory to our policy, a homevisit will then be scheduled. After the homevisit, the applicant is either approved to adopt, approved with contingencies or denied. At this point, we begin the process of matching your family with one of our boxers. Our standard adoption fee is $250.00. Mixes may be less and puppies may be more.
